AresNet-MTIU: Mission-Thread Instrumentation for C2 Resilience
AresNet-MTIU helps determine whether distributed mission-thread observations remain timely, trustworthy, complete, and actionable as they move across DDIL, EMCON, cyber, EW, and degraded transport conditions.
Mission-thread evidence
AresNet is a mission-thread resilience platform for contested command-and-control environments. Its first deployable expression, AresNet-MTIU, is a portable instrumentation and evidence layer that observes distributed tactical data paths, normalizes and correlates weak or partial observations, preserves timing and provenance, and produces replayable evidence showing where custody was created, preserved, degraded, or lost.
Sensor to decision to effect
AresNet-MTIU sits beside existing C2, TAK, fusion, simulation, and data-layer environments. It observes boundary events without burdening operators, then correlates what happened across the mission thread so reviewers can see where timing, custody, completeness, and confidence survived or failed.

AresNet-MTIU concept demonstration
See how the portable AresNet Mission-Thread Instrumentation Unit observes defined mission-thread boundaries, correlates telemetry across the data path, and preserves evidence for replay and review. The demonstration introduces per-boundary collection, provenance and time-quality preservation, latency and degradation analysis, and evidence generation for contested and DDIL assessment.
MTIU complements existing mission systems, transport paths, and simulation environments by helping evaluators answer a focused question: did mission value survive?
Phase I focus
In Phase I, OFFSET3 is using synthetic, unclassified representative data to prove a bounded path: generate a deterministic mission-thread fixture, ingest and normalize observations, correlate them across boundaries, generate stage metrics, and package reviewer-ready evidence.
That bounded evidence chain is also the foundation for broader AresNet capabilities: generated mission traffic, adversarial effects, DDIL-aware assessment, and future mission-thread custody analysis.
Current work does not claim operational deployment, autonomous targeting, live TAK interoperability, or replacement of Army C2 systems. AresNet-MTIU complements existing systems by producing custody evidence under contested conditions.
